The Centre of Qualitative Research (in Danish: Center for kvalitativ metodeudvikling) was founded in 1988. Members included Steinar Kvale, Jette Fog and Bo Sommerlund. Until 2006 Steinar Kvale served as director. Since 2006, Svend Brinkmann has taken over as the director of the centre.

The Centre of Qualitative Research offers PhD courses within qualitative research, publishes books and articles within this area, and it has developed computer programmes for textual analysis. The Centre has published newsletters in Danish, and with English contributions. The issues of the newsletter from 1992 to 2007 are included in this website under the heading 'Newsletter'.

From 2008 onwards, we intend to publish the newsletter as an online journal with peer-reviewed articles in addition to more informal communication. The web-site for the new journal is found here.
